PROFESSION vs. POSSESSION

Act like you really believe it!

We’ve all been there at some point. It’s that moment when you're sitting, minding your own business and the speaker looks directly at you (it seems) and speaks directly to you! I mean he goes deep into your unsaid secrets, exposes you to yourself and seemingly the entire room. Well, that happened to me yesterday and it was right on time. I NEEDED IT!

The brother said:

  • Some people’s Profession, don’t line up with their Possession.

  • Walk like you know the [power of the] God you serve!

  • Stop walking around like you have nothing!

  • Do you know who you are?

  • Do you know what you possess?

  • We do not walk around as individuals who do not have hope!

He kept going the whole morning, like somebody ’sen’ he fuh me!’ To tell you the truth, I am convinced that he was sent by Somebody, with a timely reminder for us all.

Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

I received a new perspective on this testimony of the beggar’s encounter with God, through Peter and John outside the gates called Beautiful. (Acts 3: 1-10) As believers, sometimes we are not quick enough to Profess the powerful Possession which has been gifted to us.

To me, it seems like I’ve been that beggar sitting outside of the gates of my hopes and dreams in a pitiful situation, hoping that the world would give me something. When the truth is, that what I really needed was a revelation, or rather a reminder of the infinite power in the promises of the God I serve.

So today, I’ll be the one to pass it on and remind you of His promises:

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?

Isaiah 55:11 ...so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Jeremiah 29:11-14a For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord,

So, now that we’ve all been reminded, let’s walk in the knowledge and belief in the promises of the powerful and faithful God we serve. Let our Possession be in line with our Profession.
