How Heavy?

Mrs Drakes walked to the front of the class and held a glass of water over her head. She looked around and she asked, "how heavy is this glass?" Answers ranged from a couple of ounces to a couple of pounds.

After a few moments, Mrs Drakes looked at the class and said, "Students, from my perspective, the weight of the glass is irrelevant. It all depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a few seconds, it's light, but if I hold it for a day, my arms will cramp and this small glass of water will cause me severe pain, until I am forced to drop it."

What are you carrying, or holding over your head today that you need to let go of?

Worry - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Fear - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7

Frustration - Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

Disappointment - "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.

Psalm 118:8

Stress - “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Reconcile at least one broken relationship today. Take whatever worry, fear, frustration, disappointment, stress or unforgiveness you have in your glass and lay it down.

Have a Blessed and Beautiful WAR Wednesday.
