God's Love

When I first heard the analogy of Jesus being the Bridegroom and me, being His bride, as a man I thought it to be a little weird. However, I have since gotten a clearer understanding of why the relationship between Jesus and the church, is described that way in the Bible.

As a husband, I constantly remind myself of the love that Jesus has for His bride. Consequently, I try my best to emulate that love in my relationship with my wife. It's always funny when she asks me if I forgive her for something, because in my mind, my forgiveness of her is limitless. She doesn't need to ask, because I have already forgiven her for everything, as long as we both shall live.

If a sinful man such as myself can forgive, how much more will our Creator, Jesus Christ?

Take a moment and think about someone you love more than you, or they can imagine, someone you are convinced that you would do almost anything for. Now, if you take that love and multiply it infinitely, you would still fall short of the love, that God has for His creation.

My prayer is that as we grow in Christ, we reflect more and more of Him. Additionally, I pray that we can truly love Him with all our hearts, souls and minds and by extension, love our neighbours as ourselves.

Ephesians 3:18-19

... may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
