For His Purpose

Talents - we are born with

Skills - we develop

Spiritual Gifts - are given to us by God, to encourage and edify the church, for His glory.

We can often confuse the things we are good at, with the things we are called to do. What if I told you, that God may be calling you to step completely out of your comfort zone?

When God asked Moses to go back to Egypt and confront the Pharoah, Moses was hesitant. He had doubts as to whether his credentials qualified him for the call.

Exodus 4:10

But Moses said, “No, Lord, don't send me. I have never been a good speaker, and I haven't become one since you began to speak to me. I am a poor speaker, slow and hesitant.”

God did not call Moses to do something he was great at, or something Moses was certain he could accomplish. The call wasn't about Moses and his talents or skills. The call was about God and His purpose.

Exodus 4:11-12

The Lord said to him, “Who gives man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or dumb? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? It is I, the Lord. Now, go! I will help you to speak, and I will tell you what to say.”

Moses was used by God to accomplish His Purpose. He was fearfully and wonderfully designed and gifted, for the Lord's purpose.

In the coming weeks, we will explore what it means to be gifted for purpose and how God can and does use us, for His glory. In fact, He often uses us in areas where we are weak, because where we are weak, He is our strength.

Take sometime this week to seek God and draw closer to Him. Let us be intentional about making Him the center of everything we do. My desire is to see our community transformed into one of servants. One where we serve the gifts given by God with willing hearts, not for our glory, but His and His alone.

Have a Blessed and Beautiful WAR Wednesday.
