We often hear sayings like, 'children are sponges, so be careful what they see and hear', 'leaders lead by example, whether they intend to or not' or 'a good example has twice the value of good advice.' All these basically tell the same story, we are being watched.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 11:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

Therefore as followers of Christ, our words should always be in alignment with our walk. It should never be, 'do as I say but not as I do.' Some may say it is difficult to be good examples for the 'youth of today' because of all the distractions around them, but is it really? We often cite their distractions as ones that didn't exist long ago. However, if we think about it, there were distractions; albeit different ones, but they were present. So let's not use that as an excuse. Let's delve into God's Word and see what is required of us to be good examples.

God demonstrated the BEST example of His love for us in His Word. He not only sent His Son to die for our sins, but while here on earth, Christ showed us how to truly live. Therefore, today we have no excuse not to be good examples for our youth.

Ephesians 5:1-2 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Have a Thankful Thursday knowing that we have the best example of a meaningful life in Christ.
